Javier Milei repudiated the new assassination attempt against Donald Trump and condemned the left

Milei vehemently condemns the violent rhetoric of the left everywhere in the world that promotes this type of attack.” In addition, the statement celebrates the fact that both Donald Trump and the First Lady, Melania Trump, and the rest of the attendees have been unharmed, also highlighting that the attacker was arrested before he could carry out a

fatal attack.

Armed attack on the White House The assassination

attempt took place during the Dinner of Accredited Journalists at the White House, held at the Washington Hilton, where the American president was urgently evacuated after gunshots were fired at the event.

The Secret Service's response was immediate: heavily armed agents broke into the room and removed Donald Trump from the stage in a matter of seconds, along with Melania Trump.

The president himself later confirmed that the attacker, identified as Cole Allen Tomas, was arrested by security forces, preventing a major tragedy. The assailant reportedly fired, but the impact was contained by the kevlar vest of a member of the security staff, without causing serious damage. The sequence generated moments of generalized panic, with partial evacuations, effective securing each sector of the compound and a full deployment of

security forces.

The Secret Service took absolute control of the Washington Hilton, while images released on social networks showed agents running through the corridors after the first reports of gunshots. Outside, troops with unarmed weapons ordered journalists and attendees to leave the place and seek

refuge.

At a subsequent press conference from the White House, Donald Trump assured that the evacuation was carried out following established protocols and confirmed that both Melania Trump, the vice president and his entire cabinet are in perfect health. The president also reported that the dinner will be rescheduled for the next 30 days and acknowledged that the venue for the event was not “particularly

safe”.

In his statements, he called for resolving differences through dialogue and described the attacker as “a very sick person”. He also regretted the suspension of the event, whose objective was to “celebrate press freedom”, although he admitted that continuing with the evening was discouraged by

his security team.

In a fact that further aggravates the situation, the head of the Washington DC Metropolitan Police revealed that the terrorist was equipped with a significant arsenal: a shotgun, a gun and multiple knives.
