La Joaqui decided to break her silence and explain what the real reason was that led her to distance herself from La China Suárez. Information about a conflict between the two exploded after Yanina Latorre claimed on LAM (América) that the artists had a conflict over the same man.
According to Latorre, both had been romantically involved with James Rodríguez, the Colombian player with a past at Real Madrid. However, the singer gave her version on Sálvese quien pueda (América) and denied that this was the reason for the end of the relationship.
La Joaqui's response: "We stopped belonging to each other"
When asked by reporter Rodrigo Baré about the supposed rivalry, the artist was direct: "We broke ties because we stopped belonging to each other".
The singer explained that the relationship simply stopped flowing. "As you grow, there are things you stop thinking about. If I'm not getting along with you, I say 'up to here it was healthy, all the best,' let's leave the love intact", she stated.
La Joaqui also reflected on the social pressure to maintain friendships that no longer work: "We're not obligated to maintain relationships where we don't share the same values. What's wrong is forcing something that no longer flows".
