Medea Benjamin and Hasan Piker are under federal investigation for their ties to the "Nuestra América Convoy," a delegation accused of collaborating with the Cuban regime and violating U.S. sanctions.
In a strong escalation to curb malicious foreign influence operations, officials from the Departments of Treasury, State, and Justice have scrutinized a network of far-left activists suspected of violating federal laws by providing support to the communist regime of Cuba. The Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) has issued administrative subpoenas to key figures, investigating whether the funding and coordination of their activities with the Communist Party of Cuba constitute a direct violation of existing sanctions designed to economically suffocate the island's tyranny.
The focus of this federal investigation is on the influential Marxist streamer Hasan Piker and the co-founder of CodePink, Susan Medea Benjamin. Both received Requests for Information (RFI) demanding financial and logistical details about their participation in the so-called "Convoy Our America" in March, a delegation of communist supporters that delivered supplies directly to the ruling elite on the island. This global network included about 650 delegates from 33 countries and 120 organizations, including the Democratic Socialists of America, who promote Piker as one of their star members.

The scale of the financial web behind these agitators is alarming:
The magnate Neville Roy Singham has injected 278 million dollars into nonprofit organizations that promote anti-United States rhetoric and support for the dictatorships of China and Cuba.
After marrying Jodie Evans (co-founder of CodePink), Singham transferred 1.33 million dollars to this radical organization.
The federal investigation encompasses a total of 145 nonprofit organizations with collective revenues of one billion dollars, which are suspected of participating in this influence campaign orchestrated by the Cuban communist regime.
Among those involved is also Isra Hirsi, daughter of Democratic Congresswoman Ilhan Omar, whose funding for the trip to the island is being rigorously examined by authorities. It is believed that the delegates deliberately stayed in hotels on the "Cuba Restricted List", directly controlled by the repressive apparatus of the dictatorship.
Hasan Piker and Medea Benjamin
Hasan Piker, known for his incendiary rhetoric, has gone so far as to declare that "the United States deserved 9/11" and recently labeled the Department of Justice's accusation against dictator Raúl Castro as a "farce" without "legal basis". While insulting the president by calling him a "schoolyard bully", Piker boasts on social media about his trip with defiant messages like "I'M GOING TO CUBA". Even in his private life, the streamer has faced criticism for training his dog, Kaya, with electric collars, a reflection of his authoritarian character.
For her part, Medea Benjamin has been labeled a provocateur who, under the slogan of "anti-war", dedicates herself to praising authoritarian regimes from the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Chinese Communist Party. Justice will now determine whether these actions will lead to criminal proceedings under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA). It is worth noting that the OFAC can impose civil penalties under the principle of "strict liability", where the government does not need to prove intent to violate the law, thus facilitating punishment for these chaos promoters who see the current disorder in the country as something "fucking terrifying" while defending the communist iron fist.
