Julián Álvarez stays at Atlético de Madrid after his dream of playing in Barcelona is thwarted

With that path closed, Arsenal became a concrete alternative. Mikel Arteta's team showed strong interest and moved forward with an attractive proposal for Atlético. However, the operation also did not come to fruition because Álvarez was not willing to return to England.

The forward's refusal ultimately reduced the available options in the final stretch of the market. Barcelona was his priority, Atlético did not want to sell to the Catalan team, and Arsenal failed to convince him. In that scenario, staying in Madrid appeared as the only possible outcome.
