Julián Álvarez's Brothers Signed for a Club in Spain
Agustín and Rafael are players for Club Argentino, a team that competes in the Segunda Regional of Madrid.
The Club Argentino de Fútbol de Madrid, founded in July 2023, has gained notoriety by announcing a few weeks ago the incorporation of Rafael and Agustín Álvarez, brothers of the prominent footballer Julián Álvarez, current player and figure of Atlético de Madrid.
Rafael, known as "Puchi," plays as an attacking midfielder, standing out for his skill and vision of the game. Meanwhile, Agustín occupies the position of left back, recognized for his defensive solidity and offensive projection. The arrival of both to the Madrid club was facilitated by Lucas Beltrán, former teammate of Julián at River Plate and current footballer of Fiorentina, who, upon learning of the brothers' situation in Madrid, connected them with Adrián Varela, president of the Club Argentino.
"Actually, the mastermind behind Rafa and Agus being on the team is a friend of theirs, Lucas Beltrán, a River Plate player who is now at Fiorentina. He was the one who recommended I get in touch with them, because they had come to live in Madrid with Julián, and were not playing. Lucas spoke highly of them, both in football and personal terms, and that's why we brought them. The coaches saw them, were delighted, and not only with their way of playing but with their way of being. And here they are with us," commented Adrián Varela, president of the club.

The recent viralization of a video by the TikToker "El Scarso," which accumulated 1.6 million views, and the arrival of the Álvarez brothers boosted the club's popularity, raising their Instagram followers from 3,666 to almost 150,000 in a few days. This increase in visibility has been a significant boost for the institution, which went from being followed only by family and acquaintances to having more than 2,000 fans.
The team currently competes in Group 4 of the second regional of Madrid, equivalent to the eighth division of Spanish football. The entity seeks to consolidate and grow in the Spanish football scene, facing challenges such as the lack of their own field to train and play their matches. Currently, they rent facilities from Atlético La Garena in Alcalá de Henares, and they are seeking institutional support to obtain their own space that allows them to settle and develop their sports project.
