A person was incinerated in broad daylight last Monday in the Ejército de los Andes neighborhood, known as Fuerte Apache, in Ciudadela, Tres de Febrero party, Buenos Aires province.
The discovery occurred in the area of Nudo 6 of the housing complex and initiated a judicial investigation to determine the identity of the victim and the circumstances of the brutal act, in a context of great insecurity due to the disastrous management of the ultra-Kirchnerist governor Axel Kicillof.
According to police sources, the body was inside a hand cart that had been set on fire. After the intervention of the officers to extinguish the fire, the presence of a deceased man was confirmed.
The brutal act
The initial information included in the file indicates that the victim would have a gunshot wound to the head.
The case is under the jurisdiction of the Functional Instruction Unit No. 7 of the San Martín Judicial Department, under the heading of investigation of causes of death. However, the main hypothesis being considered by investigators points to a possible homicide.
At the scene, members of the Buenos Aires Police worked alongside personnel from the Departmental Delegation of Investigations (DDI), who conducted forensic examinations and collected evidence.
Investigators are awaiting the results of the autopsy and forensic analyses to precisely establish the mechanics of the event. One of the key points is to determine whether the gunshot to the head occurred before the body was set on fire. Additionally, the victim has not yet been officially identified.
Axel Kicillof
Among the lines of investigation, the possibility of a settling of scores is being analyzed, although authorities emphasize that there are no certainties about the motive and that various hypotheses remain open as the case progresses.
As part of the measures taken, a review of security cameras in the area is being conducted. According to reports, some footage may have captured two individuals transporting the cart to the location where it was later set on fire. However, the suspects have not yet been identified, as they were reportedly covering their faces.
The discovery prompted a significant police operation in Fuerte Apache, while the Justice continues investigations to clarify the brutal act. So far, no arrests have been made nor are there any individuals charged in the case.
