Neurosurgeon Leopoldo Luque, one of the defendants in the trial for the death of Diego Armando Maradona, was involved in an incident during the first hearing at the Oral Criminal Court No. 3 of San Isidro. During a recess, Luque assaulted a photojournalist from the AFP agency who was filming him in the court hallways.
Since his arrival at the courthouse, Luque, charged with "simple homicide with eventual intent," stayed away from the rest of those present, avoiding journalists and Diego's family, and spoke only with his two lawyers, Julio Rivas and Mara Digiuni, and with psychiatrist Agustina Cosachov, another defendant in the case.

In the video of the incident, Luque is seen approaching him and confrontationally asking: "Are you filming me?" After the reporter's affirmative response, Luque continued: "Why? Were you authorized to do that?" The journalist replied that he was simply recording, to which Luque reacted violently saying: "You have to ask me for permission, asshole," while trying to snatch the camera, abruptly interrupting the recording.
