Liberal Revolution: the visionary tweet that anticipated Argentina's political shift
An X account that attempted to ridicule liberalism ended up becoming a glorious predictive archive
In 2020, amid the height of the ideological debate on social media, when the name of Javier Milei was beginning to be heard outside the academic and television spheres, an X account called "Museo Pubertario Argentino" was dedicated to mocking those who saw the liberal economist as a hope for the country. Among jibes and sarcasm, a post emerged that, over time, gained an unexpected documentary value.
On October 28, 2020, the account wrote:
"The '20s decade will go down in history as the 'Argentine Liberal Revolution,' with Milei as one of its main exponents. Our grandchildren will see him in school, and they'll ask us to tell them what it was like. Me? Proud to be on the right side."

What at that time seemed like nothing more than an ironic exaggeration or a conceptual provocation ended up being a kind of early declaration. Three years later, in December 2023, Javier Milei assumed the presidency of the Nation after a historic election that channeled the exhaustion of a society suffocated by decades of statism, inflation, and Kirchnerist decline.
Today, in mid-2025, the libertarian government led by Milei is showing results that even his detractors can't ignore: sustained fiscal surplus, declining inflation, and a recovery of international confidence in Argentina. The administration is moving forward with structural reforms that are redesigning the State, reducing privileges, and promoting a culture of merit.
But it wasn't the only sign in the network's archive. The satirical account Museo Pubertario Argentino compiled for years posts that today seem like unacknowledged prophecies. In November 2020, a user anticipated: "Neither Espert nor Gómez Centurión. Milei must be the presidential candidate. Charisma goes a long way, people." on November 7, 2020.

In 2021, distrust toward digital platforms was also a subject of criticism. In an October 2020 tweet, Juan Doe targeted the then-CEO of Twitter: "This filthy, communist hippie is the owner and CEO of Twitter. So you understand why the social network is 100% biased toward the far left." Currently, Juan Doe has become Director of Digital Communication for the Presidency of Milei.
The same account ridiculed the rhetorical excesses of certain progressive sectors that labeled liberal politicians as "Nazis." One of the most controversial memes included a photomontage with Bolsonaro, Macri, and Piñera dressed as members of the Nazi regime. The original post read: "BEWARE OF THE NAZIS OF LATIN AMERICA. MURDERERS." on May 19, 2021.

Another tweet, posted from the official account of Javier Milei in May 2021, included a map of the country with the message: "CLOSED UNTIL YOU VOTE FOR JAVIER MILEI."
A disruptive warning, which today becomes a symbol of a mandate that fulfilled the promise to close the cycle of populism.
In that context, the 2020 tweet resurfaces as an archival gem: an involuntary testimony of a change of era. What was once seen as libertarian fantasy is now studied seriously in academic centers, discussed in international media, and experienced firsthand in the economic and cultural transformation of the country.

The so-called "Argentine Liberal Revolution", once unthinkable, now has a visible face and tangible results. That old tweet, lost in the digital depths of the divide, is now reinterpreted as a historic piece that was able to foresee—even from skepticism—what was to come.
