The La Libertad Avanza front leads voting intention in the First Section of Buenos Aires Province

Libertarian candidate Diego Valenzuela clearly defeats Fuerza Patria's ultra-Kirchnerist Gabriel Katopodis

After the list closure in Buenos Aires province and ahead of the legislative elections on September 7, a new study by CB Consultora Opinión Pública revealed that La Libertad Avanza, in alliance with PRO, is positioned as the main political force in the strategic First Electoral Section, which now concentrates the largest number of voters in the province.

The survey, conducted on July 21 and 22 with 813 cases, shows that the ticket led by the libertarian mayor of Tres de Febrero, Diego Valenzuela, clearly leads the ultra-Kirchnerist candidate from Fuerza Patria, Gabriel Katopodis, current minister of Axel Kicillof. With a voting intention of 41.2%, Valenzuela surpasses Katopodis by almost six points, who reaches 35.3%.

This result not only consolidates La Libertad Avanza as the most competitive force in the northern and western regions of Greater Buenos Aires, but also reflects the strong support from the electorate for President Javier Milei's party, which seeks to end Kirchnerist decline in the province.

Valenzuela's strong position is not a coincidence. His administration at the head of Tres de Febrero, where he reduced taxes and modernized the municipal administration, has become a reflection of the transformation model promoted by the libertarian movement.

Added to this is his high positive image, which, according to the CB study, reaches 38.2%, far surpassing the negative differential accumulated by his main rival, Katopodis, with a 43% negative image.

In third place in voting intention is the mayor of Tigre, Julio Zamora, with only 5.2%, which highlights the fading of dissident Peronism.

The First Section includes key municipalities such as Vicente López, San Isidro, Morón, San Martín, Pilar, and José C. Paz, among others, and puts eight seats in the provincial Senate at stake. With nearly 4.7 million eligible voters, this region has become a decisive stage for political strategy heading into 2025.

The growth of La Libertad Avanza in this area is complemented by previous surveys that had already indicated a sustained advance of the movement led by President Javier Milei. As candidates consolidate and campaigns begin, the libertarian front appears increasingly competitive, even against historically dominant party structures in the province.
