Lionel Messi took a new step in his business side and became the new owner of the EU Cornellà, an entity that plays in the Third RFEF, the fifth category of Spanish football, and which is currently fighting for promotion in Spanish football. With this acquisition, Messi expands his presence in sports management, since he was already part of projects such as Deportivo LSM in Uruguay and Leones FC in Rosario, consolidating an increasingly active profile outside

the courts.

The operation was confirmed by the club itself, which highlighted Rosario's link with Catalonia: “With this operation, Messi reinforces his close relationship with the city of Barcelona and his commitment to the development of sports and local talent in Catalonia. A bond that dates back to the time when he was a player for FC Barcelona and that has remained indelible over the years

.”

In the same statement, the institution highlighted the impact of his arrival: “The arrival of Leo Messi opens a new phase in the club's history, with the objective of boosting its sporting and institutional growth, strengthening its structure and continuing to bet on talent. The project contemplates a long-term vision, with a strategic plan that combines ambition, sustainability and roots

.”

Cornellà also has a strong tradition in the training of soccer players, having been a youth academy for players such as Jordi Alba or David Raya, an aspect that fits with Messi's commitment to youth development. Currently, the Catalan team is going through a good present: it is in third place in its group, five points behind the leader, the CE Manresa, and in the qualifying zone for the playoffs due to the promotion to the Second RFEF

.

In this way, while continuing his professional career, the captain of the Argentine National Team begins to build his legacy from another role, with investments that aim at institutional growth and the formation of new generations in football.
