The Movistar Arena in Buenos Aires, one of the most important indoor venues in the country, has changed hands in a key operation for the local entertainment industry. Since its opening in 2019, the stadium had as its main shareholder the La Nación group, but now an international company takes majority control.
The company that acquired the majority of the shares is Live Nation Entertainment, a global giant in live music and mass events. This move strengthens its presence in Argentina and positions the Arena as a pillar in the region.
Live Nation had already been operating in the country since 2018, when it bought DF Entertainment, the producer behind Lollapalooza Argentina. Additionally, earlier this year it closed a deal to have exclusive concert rights at the Más Monumental stadium of River and showed interest in increasing its stake in Dale Play Live, associated with figures like Duki and Bizarrap.
With this acquisition, the company consolidates its expansion in the local entertainment market.

What happens with the La Nación group
Despite the change, the La Nación group is not completely stepping back. It will maintain a significant stake in the company that manages the stadium, ensuring continuity in the relationship with the project it helped to promote.
The news was officially communicated by Movistar Arena itself through its social media. “Today we share news that fills us with pride: Live Nation announced the acquisition of a majority stake in Movistar Arena Buenos Aires, recognizing us as one of the leading live entertainment venues in Latin America,” posted the Instagram account.
