The bond between Lizardo Ponce and Martín Cirio, known on social media as La Faraona, was abruptly broken some time ago. Although for years they maintained a close friendship and shared projects and broadcasts on social media, everything ended after the strong public cancellation Cirio faced in 2020.
However, fate recently brought them together again at a highly talked-about event: the press performance of the musical “Patito Feo,” where they met for the first time in a long while.
On the show Sálvese Quien Pueda, Lizardo Ponce recounted what that uncomfortable moment was like in front of cameras and photographers.
Antes de su cancelación, Martín Cirio y Lizardo Ponce eran íntimos amigos
"I walked in right before him, and then he came in, and at one point they wanted us to take a picture together," the panelist said, hinting at the tension that still exists between them.
Yanina Latorre, one of his colleagues, asked him if he had tried to greet Cirio just to keep up appearances.
Lizardo was clear:"No. I think the day I went to Bondi I explained what happened and I felt at peace. He still sent me a message afterward and told me everything was fine."
The influencer explained that, despite the conflicts, he never stopped following him on social media and that they even maintained some contact during the toughest period of the cancellation.
Martín Cirio no estaría dispuesto a recomponer la relación
"I spoke with him at that time. I sent him materials he wanted to see without having to go on social media," he recalled.
Ponce also reflected on the reason that may have marked the distancing: "If I didn't support him the way he expected, I understand and I apologize, but I don't feel that I treated him badly."
His words reflected a mix of sincerity and closure. Although there was no reconciliation, the host hinted that he holds no grudge and prefers to leave past conflicts behind.
Martín Cirio once again at the center of controversy
Meanwhile, Martín Cirio caused controversy again this week during a live broadcast, when he mockingly referred to Selena Gomez and the physical changes the artist has gone through in recent years.
"I remember when she said 'I already know I'm not going to have the body I had at 20' and she was all swollen, she looked like a standing toad. Her face looked like it was about to burst. Now look at her, with the body of a 20-year-old," the streamer said, laughing.
His remarks provoked outrage among followers, who reminded him in the chat about the health problems Gomez has faced, including lupus, bipolar disorder, and SIBO.
Despite this, Cirio insisted on his position and made a serious accusation without evidence: "She has Ozempic, she doesn't have lupus. She also had lupus when she was fat like a toad. What happened? Did the lupus go away?"
