Luis de la Fuente praised Argentina and rejected criticism of their playing style ahead of the 2026 World Cup final

During the official press conference organized by FIFA, Spain's coach, Luis de la Fuente, was asked about the criticism received by the Argentine National Team for their style of play throughout the tournament. Far from fueling the controversy, De la Fuente supported the team led by Lionel Scaloni and stated that he does not share those opinions.

"I wouldn't even think that. I respect all opinions, but I have enormous admiration for a team that has just won the Copa América, the Finalissima, and the World Cup," the Spanish coach affirmed.

Additionally, he highlighted the personal bond he maintains with the Argentine coach, whom he defined as a friend.

De la Fuente emphasized the current state of the Albiceleste and considered that both teams share several characteristics both in terms of football and competitive mentality.

As he explained, Spain and Argentina demonstrated the ability to respond in moments of maximum demand, in addition to having high-caliber players capable of making a difference in decisive matches.
