LIVE: Manuel Adorni debates against 16 other left-wing candidates for the City
The broadcast of the debate will begin at 8:00 PM and can be watched on Canal de la Ciudad
In the context of the elections to be held in Buenos Aires City on May 18, this Tuesday will feature the debate among the candidates for legislators, with the participation of the 17 candidates who registered to compete.
The broadcast will begin at 8 PM and can be followed through the Canal de la Ciudad. The event will be moderated by Damián Glanz and Brenda Brecher, and will be divided into four segments: an initial presentation by each participant, the presentation of their proposals, a question and answer session, and a final closing.
10:55 PM - Lospennato closed her debate
Silvia Lospennato, from PRO, was the last speaker of the CABA debate. "We are the ones who best represent the values of the people of Buenos Aires." In a somewhat unbelievable speech, she added: "We care about content, but also about form, we are pro-freedom and republic, we are pro-order and security, we are public health and public works. The PRO list is the one that best represents the values of the City."
10:49 PM - Kirchnerist Leandro Santoro closed his debate
To close, the radical Kirchnerist Leandro Santoro called to "put a stop to Javier Milei and Jorge Macri" in the upcoming legislative elections on May 18.
"It's unbelievable how we have become accustomed to political leaders trashing people. They are absolutely insensitive. We can say enough to the merchants of hate," fired the candidate of Cristina Kirchner, who seeks to destroy the City and turn it into the Buenos Aires province of Axel Kicillof.
10:30 PM - Manuel Adorni, Milei's candidate, closed his debate
Javier Milei's candidate, Manuel Adorni, used his closing minute in the CABA debate to criticize Kirchnerism and remind people: "The better the country does, the worse Kirchnerism does."
"We are making deep and structural changes. We must not allow Kirchnerism to win and destroy the city as it destroyed Argentina," concluded the presidential spokesperson, who seeks to replicate Milei's model in the City, with a smaller state, less public spending, and fewer taxes for the people of Buenos Aires.
10:15 PM - Adorni presents his proposals
The candidate of La Libertad Avanza in Buenos Aires City, Manuel Adorni, opened his intervention in the debate by responding to the ironic greeting of the candidate from the Left Front, Luca Bonfante, who mentioned him for being the 29th, a day associated with the custom of eating gnocchi. "Having a leftist call me a gnocchi is a balm for the soul, I recommend it to everyone," replied the current presidential spokesperson with irony.
Adorni then focused his presentation on the proposal to bring to the City the management model promoted by Javier Milei at the national level. "No one doubts that Buenos Aires City is better than it was 17 years ago when PRO took office, but no one can doubt that the city has stagnated," he noted, combining recognition with criticism of the current management.
In that context, Adorni targeted Kirchnerism and called not to allow it to regain ground in the City. "If we continue in this direction sooner or later Kirchnerism will win the elections. The only way to prevent this is to bring Milei's model to the City."
9:48 PM - Adorni destroyed the leftist Winokur
The far-left candidate, Federico Winokur, (The Left in the City), criticized the "capitalist system" of the City and proposed the "democratic planning of the economy by the workers." "It's time for anti-capitalism," assured the communist.
After promoting the ideas of communism, which killed more than 150 million people, the presidential spokesperson destroyed Winokur: "First, thank you for dedicating the fifth anti-capitalist camp to me, which incredibly charged an entrance fee and also accepted market payment," and concluded: "I won't ask you any questions because I believe a communist doesn't have enough competence to hold any public office in the Argentine Republic." In response to Adorni, Winokur went mad and started shouting to attack Milei's Government.
9:28 PM - Leandro Santoro presents his proposals to destroy the City
The radical Kirchnerist Leandro Santoro, who represents the most corrupt party in Argentine history, questioned the waste collection contract in Buenos Aires City and the lack of control over public services in Buenos Aires.
"The discussion has to be about controlling these outsourced companies," he stated, and proposed the creation of an "investigative commission" to address the issue.
During the question block, he was questioned by Manuel Adorni, Paula Oliveto, and Alejandro Kim. Meanwhile, the presidential spokesperson asked him: "Leandro, in 2021 you were a candidate with Alberto, in 2023 you were a candidate with Massa, largely responsible for the destruction of this country, at least in recent times. I wanted to ask you if you're not ashamed to be a Kirchnerist."
In response, along with affirmations and false news, the candidate handpicked by the corrupt Cristina Kirchner stated: "Santoro is Santoro, I don't hide behind anyone. I didn't come to defend a political project of cruelty."
8:50 PM - Questions and answers among the other leftist candidates
The other leftist candidates present their proposals and answer questions, discussing who is the most leftist of all.
8:35 PM - Adorni destroyed Lospennato
The PRO candidate, Silvia Lospennato, presented her proposals and claimed achievements of Milei's Government, and Manuel Adorni, along with two other candidates, took it upon themselves to ask her questions.
After Lospennato promised things she could do and doesn't do, Adorni stated: "We ended the blockades with Bullrich and Pettovello, not you. Continuing with that, everything you mentioned you had 17 years to do and didn't. The question is: What do you think you did wrong between 2015 and 2019 for Kirchnerism to have the chance to come back and ruin the country?"
Lospennato didn't know how to respond and had to resort to talking about the past: "We won nine elections against Kirchnerism and we're going for the tenth time. This force is the only anti-Kirchnerist one and is the one that knows this city best."
8:15 PM - Leandro Santoro presented himself
During his presentation in the debate of candidates for Buenos Aires legislators, the radical Kirchnerist Leandro Santoro, head of the list for Es ahora Buenos Aires, launched strong criticisms against Jorge Macri and Javier Milei.
"I came to this debate to fight against the abandonment in which Buenos Aires City is immersed as a result of Jorge Macri's poor management. And I also come to fight against the cruelty to which Javier Milei's government is subjecting our country," expressed the Kirchnerist leader, who seeks to destroy the City and turn it into the Buenos Aires province of Axel Kicillof.
8:10 PM - Lospennato presented herself
The candidate of the Buenos Aires government, Silvia Lospennato, spoke about the disastrous management of PRO in the City and distanced herself from Kirchnerism.
"The PRO of Mauricio Macri, together with thousands of neighbors, built this city of which we are proud. We remember the city of potholes. We are the PRO that built line A and bus lanes, we did works so you don't flood anymore, we are the PRO that transformed from Parque Patricio to the Chinatown," she expressed during her intervention, hiding the serious problems of PRO in the City.
8:05 PM - Adorni made his presentation
The candidate of La Libertad Avanza, Manuel Adorni, was the second to speak during the debate to introduce himself to the citizens. "We have been governing for a year and five months and have achieved unbelievable accomplishments," stated the presidential spokesperson.
"We are eradicating inflation, we ended thousands of scams in the State, and we even ended the blockades in Buenos Aires City. The only proven model to stop Kirchnerism is us. In fact, they have managed to bring Kirchnerism back. The only option is Milei's model," he concluded.
8:00 PM - The debate began
Each of the candidates will make their presentation to the public, and then the remaining segments will take place: the presentation of proposals, the exchange of questions and answers, and finally the closing of the event.

7:00 PM - Adorni crossed PRO and Kirchnerism
The candidate for legislator for La Libertad Avanza, Manuel Adorni, launched harsh criticisms against PRO and Kirchnerism ahead of the debate that will take place tonight, and announced his intention to close the Canal de la Ciudad, the media responsible for broadcasting the event.
"Heading to the Canal de la Ciudad for the debate of candidates for Buenos Aires legislators. PRO promised to close this channel 17 years ago: today it allocates 4.5 billion pesos annually in budget. Kirchnerism, if it could, would fill it with gnocchi and activists. We are going to close it," assured the spokesperson on his X account.
