Marcelo Gallardo confirmed in a press conference that Kevin Castaño is traveling to the country today. He arrives from Russia and will undergo a medical examination and join the team during the week.

The local transfer market closed some time ago, however, clubs have time to incorporate players from abroad until Wednesday, March 12. River hadn't withdrawn yet, waiting for the Colombian midfielder to arrive to strengthen the midfield.

After the match with the Tucumán team and at the end of the press conference, a journalist asked the Muñeco about the situation of the Colombian player. "If everything is fine, tomorrow (Monday), he should be traveling to Buenos Aires and joining the team," replied the coach.

It should be remembered that Kevin Castaño was acquired by River for 9 million dollars, payment divided into two parts (8 million initially and 1 extra for achieved objectives), and his late incorporation was due to the Argentine team not fully meeting Krasnodar's demands.

Due to his delayed departure, the player was drafted for the first two dates of the Russian super league, playing a few minutes in the victory against Nizhniy Novgorod by 3-0 last Friday. After this match, he was released from the club on Saturday and was allowed to travel.

As soon as he arrives in the country, the midfielder will have a very busy Tuesday, having to undergo the medical examination and sign the contract, for 4 years, that same day to meet the deadline for the transfer market closure. For now, it is unknown if he will debut against Riestra, as it will be necessary to check the physical and football conditions with which he arrives at the "Greatest".
