Maxi López surprised everyone by opening up as rarely before and speaking candidly about his story with Wanda Nara and the unsolved relationship with Mauro Icardi. In a conversation with SQP (América), the participant of MasterChef Celebrity (Telefe) reflected on years of conflict, explained which wounds he managed to heal, and revealed what he still can't forgive.
The former footballer said that today he is living a calmer present, focused on making up for lost time with his three children: Valentino, Constantino, and Benedicto. Even so, he acknowledged that for many years he was "very angry" with both his ex-wife and the Galatasaray striker.

López stated that he went through a long period of emotional distance with Nara due to situations that affected his relationship with the children. "I feel like I lost many years, but not by my own choice", he said. He emphasized that only now have they managed to put things in order to reconnect from a different place.
When asked about that accumulated anger, he explained: "When you share so many situations with someone, there comes a point where words are unnecessary. I decided to focus on what is happening and what is coming". For him, what matters most today is maintaining closeness with his children and avoiding repeating past mistakes.
The reproach to Icardi and the famous "icardiada"
When talking about the relationship with Mauro Icardi, Maxi acknowledged that there were boundaries he could not overlook. "There is one who would deserve it", he said ironically, although he clarified that he never reacted because he prioritized setting an example for his children.
When directly asked by Yanina Latorre if he was referring to Icardi, López did not hesitate. "We should have a conversation: he involved the children in situations that are not good", he confessed. According to him, the footballer would call him during the separation from Wanda and involve the kids in adult conflicts.

Maxi recalled the exact moment when his marriage with Wanda broke down. "When love ends, love ends", he stated. He said that both reached their limit and that is why they agreed on her trip to Argentina, while she left the house.

He surprised everyone by revealing that it was Wanda herself who told him that Icardi was writing to her. Even so, he assured that this did not bother him. What did hurt him was that they attacked him using his children: "The only thing I did not like is that they involved the children to hurt me".
