What these operators deliberately omit is the macroeconomic context and the true geopolitical status of our country: the Argentine Republic was excluded from this emergency measure precisely because it already has an absolute and permanent privileged status in the U.S. market, something unattainable for direct competitors who today must settle for temporary crumbs.
The truth is compelling: thanks to excellent international alignment and a strategic trade agreement signed in February 2026 under the presidency of Javier Milei, Argentina has a historic trade benefit to export 100,000 tons of beef to the United States completely tariff-free.
This unprecedented achievement quintupled the humble and stagnant fixed quota of just 20,000 tons annually that the country had dragged along after decades of hostile and isolationist policies from Kirchnerism.
The Foreign Ministry officially communicated at the time that “the United States will eliminate reciprocal tariffs for 1,675 Argentine products across a wide range of productive sectors. Additionally, the U.S. Government will grant an unprecedented expansion to 100,000 tons for preferential access of beef to its market”.
This colossal expansion of 80,000 additional tons ensures for the year 2026 an estimated increase in foreign currency ranging from 700 million dollars to 800 million dollars. The leap in competitiveness is staggering when compared to the year 2025, when under the yoke of old inherited regulations, only 45,000 tons of beef were exported for a value of 345 million dollars.
The hard data from 2026 confirms that the export revolution is already underway: during the first seven months of the year, Argentina sent a total of 67,118 tons of beef to the United States, shattering the 22,183 tons recorded in the same period of 2025, representing a spectacular year-on-year increase of 202.6%.
