Mercedes Oviedo broke her silence after rumors of a romance with Nicolás Vázquez.

Amid a true media whirlwind, Mercedes Oviedo decided to speak for the first time about her alleged connection with Nicolás Vázquez, after he and Gimena Accardi confirmed their separation after more than 15 years together. The actress addressed the scandal that erupted on social media and categorically denied any kind of romantic relationship with her colleague.

"My family and my closest friends know me, so there was no need to clarify anything. I deeply regret this situation and I hate being everywhere because I'm a very calm person and I don't open the doors to my life," Oviedo said in a conversation with Puro Show, visibly uncomfortable due to the commotion caused by the rumors.

In recent days, Mercedes's name began circulating strongly after some users pointed to her as the supposed third party. Meanwhile, Gimena Accardi was linked to Andrés Gil, a castmate in theater. However, all those involved denied any kind of infidelity.

"The truth is that I'm distressed because I'm not used to this. I don't like it and I've always avoided this kind of thing," Oviedo stated. She also expressed her outrage over the dissemination of images of her ex-partner and her underage son: "It's a lack of respect."

The actress also addressed the speculation about her closeness with Nicolás Vázquez during the performances of Rocky, the play they star in together. In that regard, she was clear: "I act freely and I'm not going to change my attitude because of who I am. I don't have to be careful about anything because I have nothing to hide. I'm demonstrative and, if I want to give a hug to a friend, whether male or female, I'm going to do it."

Mercedes clarified that between her and Nico there was nothing more than a good professional friendship. "I danced with a coworker, I didn't do anything wrong," she emphasized, and denied feeling guilty about the couple's separation: "I have nothing more to say than this. This is not a pleasant moment for me."

Finally, the artist revealed that she had a private conversation with Gimena Accardi and showed empathy for the difficult situation: "This is a separation of two people, of a couple who have been together for many years, stable and well-liked in the industry. It's something sad for them. I'm unconditionally available for whatever they need. What is being created around this is unpleasant for everyone."
