The Iranian regime once again set off international alarms with a statement fraught with threats. In a message attributed to Mojtaba Khamenei's environment and backed by the supreme leader himself, Ali Khamenei, it was warned that Iran's enemies will end up “in the deepest waters” of
the Persian Gulf.Far from being an isolated phrase, the message is part of an increasingly aggressive discursive strategy on the part of Tehran, which targets directly against the United States and its allies, in the midst of a military escalation surrounding the Strait of Hormuz.
Iran seeks to impose control over a key route in the world

The regime is trying to consolidate its dominance over the Strait of Hormuz, one of the most important maritime routes on the planet, through which about 20% of global oil circulates
.However, far from guaranteeing stability, Iranian actions have generated the opposite effect: blockades, attacks and restrictions on maritime traffic that jeopardized international trade and triggered global tension.
In fact, in the context of the current conflict, Iran even closed or restricted passage through the strait and threatened international ships, causing a drastic drop in traffic and forcing the intervention of the United States and allies.
Propaganda versus reality: the regime's narrative
In his statement, Khamenei speaks of a supposed “new era” in the region and of a defeat for the United States. However, the facts show a much more complex and unfavorable scenario for Iran
.The United States is already evaluating an international coalition to reopen the strait and guarantee free navigation.
