The New York City medical examiner explained that, since there are no suspicions of criminality, the procedure will not be performed.
Michelle's family expressly requested that the autopsy not be carried out to determine the causes of death. According to protocol, an automatic autopsy would only be performed in case of indications of a criminal act, which did not occur in this case.
