This Tuesday, Alejandra Monteoliva officially took office as Minister of National Security during a ceremony led by President Javier Milei in the White Hall of Casa Rosada.
The brief ceremony marked the beginning of a new phase for the Security area, which is undergoing an internal reorganization process while the next guidelines are being defined.
Monteoliva takes on the position to replace Patricia Bullrich, who left the Ministry to take her seat in the Senate. Before saying goodbye, Milei described her as "the minister who promoted her own doctrine," a phrase that summed up the president's recognition of the mark Bullrich left during her tenure.

The Argentine president was accompanied at the event by the outgoing minister, as well as other government officials, chiefs and deputy chiefs of the security forces, and family members.
Meanwhile, Bullrich is now beginning a new parliamentary phase. After her resignation to take office as a national senator, she will be the leader of the La Libertad Avanza bloc in the Upper House.
Her role will be central to the Executive Branch's legislative strategy, since the ruling party is preparing a set of initiatives that it plans to send to Congress during the extraordinary sessions. Since December 10, Bullrich will be among the figures responsible for ensuring the necessary political support for those reforms.

"I deeply thank you, Mr. President, for the trust and support to uphold and implement the security and order doctrine that prevails in the country today," Bullrich wrote in her resignation letter.
"On December 10, I will take office as National Senator, where I will continue to defend with the same conviction the values we share and the reforms the country needs and you lead: strong institutions, law, order, and a country where good Argentinians can live and progress in freedom," she stated.
