The Government of Javier Milei presented a strategic innovation plan aimed at strengthening the connection between science, technology, and production, driving Argentina's development.
The initiative was formalized through Resolution 282/2025, published in the Official Gazette, which approves the Strategic Guidelines for Innovation, Science, and Technology 2025-2027, developed by the Secretariat of Innovation under the Chief of Cabinet.
The main objective of the plan is to prioritize strategic sectors that drive the country's economic and productive development, promoting greater efficiency in public resources allocated to innovation. To achieve this, the strategy seeks to link the scientific and technological system with the productive sector, focusing innovation processes on four strategic pillars: agribusiness, mining and energy, health, and knowledge economy.

According to the resolution, these sectors were selected for their direct impact on the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and the promotion of exports of goods and services with added value. The intention is for the resources of the scientific and technological system to be directed toward areas with greater economic and social potential, fostering concrete improvements in technological innovation and strengthening Argentina's export profile.
This plan marks an important shift from the historical fragmentation of scientific policy in the country, characterized by isolated projects, irregular budgets, and limited coordination with the productive sector. Now, the roadmap seeks to organize priorities, coordinate efforts, and provide predictability to companies, universities, and provincial governments.
The initiative is also part of the National Plan for Science, Technology, and Innovation 2030, approved by law (No. 27,738), ensuring institutional continuity and creating the possibility of political and federal agreements on the strategic importance of innovation.

The resolution emphasizes that the prioritization of resources and actions must focus on projects with high economic and social impact, avoiding dispersion and ensuring that investment in science translates into tangible results.
Resolution 282/2025 represents a significant shift in the way the Argentine State approaches innovation, which is no longer an isolated chapter of scientific policy and becomes a productive development policy with a technological horizon.
With proper implementation, Milei's government seeks to transform science into productivity, generate skilled employment, and drive technological advances, positioning itself competitively in key sectors of the global economy.
