A violent disturbance led by cooperatives linked to Juan Grabois resulted in serious incidents at the Municipality of La Plata, where leftist criminals set fire to the entrance of the building, caused damage, and attempted to take over the facilities.
According to reports, the incident occurred due to the rejection of a public tender related to trench cleaning services, recycling, lawn mowing, and sweeping, a measure that, for the protesters, jeopardizes the job security of their members.
According to police sources, members of the Movement of Excluded Workers (MTE), the Front of Organizations in Struggle (FOLP), and the Cooperative of Cartoneros, among other groups, participated.
During the protest, the violent leftist demonstrators blocked traffic on 12th Street between 50 and 54 and set tires on fire at the entrance to the municipal building.
The situation escalated quickly when the violent individuals began to break windows of the municipal palace and throw blunt objects in an attempt to force entry. In response to this scenario, the police decided to close the access points and conduct an internal containment to prevent the takeover of the building.
The moment of greatest tension occurred during the attempted breach, when damage to the facade was reported and five police officers were injured, all with minor injuries.
The fire
After several minutes of clashes, tensions began to ease, and a gradual dispersal of the protesters started. As a result of the operation, at least 11 arrests were made.
The attack on the Municipality had a strong impact due to the level of violence recorded and once again highlighted the brutal actions of leftist organizations in such demonstrations.
The police intervention prevented the protesters from taking the building, although it did not stop the material damage or the assaults against security personnel.
