After an intense month of broadcasts from Mar del Plata, Mirtha Legrand returned to the city of Buenos Aires to resume her historic program.
However, beyond current affairs or the invited guests, this Saturday's edition was marked by an unexpected and emotional moment: the absence of Jimena Monteverde.
When the recording began, the host noticed that Monteverde was not in the studio and the atmosphere changed immediately.
Visibly moved, Legrand explained live that the chef would no longer be part of the program, at least for the moment, and she revealed how much the situation affected her.
"She is not here because she has her program, we are going to applaud her. I send her a kiss. I am going to miss her, I am going to cry, I am going to miss her a lot", said the diva, without hiding her sadness.
The host celebrated Monteverde's professional growth, but she also expressed her personal wish that she would continue by her side. "I love that she has her program, but I would have liked her to continue with this one as well", she added, before clarifying that the gastronomic role will be covered by Mónica, a longtime collaborator of the show.
La cocinera habría decidido enfocarse en su propio programa de cocina
Jimena Monteverde's presence had become one of the most relaxed and approachable moments of the program. Her exchanges with Mirtha Legrand, always in an affectionate tone, created an atmosphere of complicity that the audience quickly identified as part of the season's hallmark. Each presentation of the menu led to spontaneous conversations, jokes, and comments that went beyond strictly culinary matters.
In previous broadcasts, the scene was repeated naturally. "What do we have today? What delicious things do we have today?", Mirtha asked as soon as she saw her appear. Monteverde replied with praise for the host and enthusiastically detailed the menu.
"We have, as a starter, some crunchy bocconcini with a little avocado cream. As a main course, a risotto with prawns, which you like a lot, Mirtha", she said, laughing, even promising to save her a portion to take home.
The back-and-forth continued until dessert, when Chiqui did not hesitate to give her opinion with complete sincerity. "Coca Calabró likes panna cotta", Mirtha commented, referring to Coca Calabró, mother of Iliana Calabró and Marina Calabró. When she was asked whether she liked it, the answer was direct: "No, no... I do not like it very much", provoking laughter in the studio.
