Christmas is usually synonymous with family gatherings, shared tables, and toasts. However, for some well-known names from the entertainment world and the public sphere, Christmas Eve took place far from that setting. Bars, prison controls, and ongoing judicial proceedings marked the holidays for those who spent these days in detention, in the midst of cases that continue to generate social and media impact.
Morena Rial
One of the most high-profile cases is that of Morena Rial. Jorge Rial's daughter remains in custody at Unit 51 in Magdalena, under pretrial detention, while a criminal case against her moves forward.
She is charged with aggravated robbery under the modality known as "escruche", which consists of entering unoccupied homes to steal valuable objects.

The investigation, which began in January 2025 and is led by the San Isidro Prosecutor's Office, keeps that Morena allegedly took part in a criminal gang, with a key role as the driver of the vehicle and as the person in charge of raising the alarm in the event of suspicious movements.
Nicolás Payarola
Nicolás Payarola, an attorney who was arrested at the end of November after a raid carried out in Nordelta, also spent Christmas in detention.
The courts are investigating him for economic crimes such as fraud, fraudulent administration, and money laundering.
During the raids, authorities seized documents, cell phones, and digital devices that now form part of the case file that keeps him deprived of his freedom.
Fabián Rossi
Another name linked to a long-standing case is Fabián Rossi, the former partner of Iliana Calabró. Rossi was arrested in June of this year in connection with the case known as La ruta del dinero K, a landmark investigation into alleged money laundering schemes that has been in the courts for years. Since then, he has remained under arrest, spending the holidays in prison.
Claudio Contardi
In August, the courts handed down one of the harshest sentences of the year against Claudio Contardi. Criminal Oral Court No. 2 of Zárate-Campana sentenced him to 19 years in prison after finding him guilty of aggravated sexual abuse with carnal access against his ex-wife, actress Julieta Prandi.
The ruling marked a turning point in a case of high public impact and turned Contardi into another detainee who spent Christmas behind bars.

Aníbal Lotocki
Aníbal Lotocki's case continues to be one of the most sensitive. This year, the surgeon was sentenced to eight years in prison for fraud and for the serious injuries caused to several media personalities, including Silvina Luna, Pamela Sosa, Stefanía Xipolitakis, and Gabriela Trenchi.
Nevertheless, Lotocki had already been in custody since October 2023 in another case: the investigation into the death of Rodolfo Christian Zárate, who died in 2021 after a cosmetic procedure. In that case file, he is charged with simple homicide with eventual intent and remains deprived of his freedom while the proceedings move forward.
