Argentine gendarme Nahuel Gallo returned to Argentina this morning after spending 448 days in detention as a hostage of the Nicolás Maduro regime in Venezuela. The uniformed man was released from El Rodeo 1 prison and arrived at Ezeiza International Airport after 04:30, where he was greeted by his family and national authorities

.

Dressed in an olive green uniform, Gallo got off the plane and fell into an embrace with his three-year-old son Víctor, whom he had not seen for almost a year and a half. On the track, his partner, María Alexandra Gómez, and his mother, Griselda Heredia, were waiting for him in a

scene full of emotion.

A kidnapping without evidence or trial

,

Gallo had been arrested on December 8, 2024 after entering Venezuela through the Francisco de Paula Santander International Bridge, from Colombia.

He was traveling to visit his family in Táchira, but the Chavista regime accused him of espionage without presenting evidence or guaranteeing him a transparent judicial process.

He was held incommunicado and transferred to the prison of El Rodeo 1, a center marked by allegations of torture, isolation and psychological pressure. For months he had no contact with his environment or effective consular access

.

The Argentine National Gendarmerie clarified that the uniformed personnel were officially licensed and that their presence in Venezuela was not linked to any institutional mission. However, the regime maintained its captivity as a tool of political pressure

International complaints and diplomatic pressure The Argentine Government demanded their release before international

organizations such as the OAS, the UN and the International Criminal Court. The family also launched a constant campaign to make the case visible.

In recent days, Gallo managed to communicate for the first time with his partner. That call confirmed that he was alive and that he was staying at El Rodeo 1.

The release came in a context of increasing pressure on the regime and after a hunger strike initiated by foreign detainees demanding the application of an amnesty law.

The return and operation in Ezeiza In

Ezeiza, a strong security operation was deployed to protect the privacy of the moment. Uniformed personnel formed a corridor of honor and national officials were present, including the Minister of Security

.

The case of Nahuel Gallo became a symbol of the use of foreign detainees as an instrument of political negotiation by Chavism. His return marks the end of a 448-day captivity and reopens the debate on the human rights situation in Venezuela

.

After almost 450 days of uncertainty, the gendarme returned to his country and his family, closing one of the most serious episodes in the recent relationship between Argentina and the Venezuelan regime.
