After Brazil's elimination from the 2026 World Cup, Neymar confirmed once again that his story with the national team has come to an end. The forward took advantage of his return to activity with Santos to reiterate a decision he had already hinted at after the defeat against Norway in the World Cup.
The striker stated that he has completed a cycle with the Brazilian jersey and proudly recalled everything he experienced over more than a decade representing his country. In this regard, he emphasized that he always gave his maximum effort and that he leaves with the satisfaction of having defended Brazil's colors: "I gave my blood, my life, but I no longer want to do it."
The Santos player's decision announces his absence from both the 2028 Copa América and the 2030 World Cup. "My time with the national team has ended. I made history, I was very happy, I gave my blood, my life, I always fought for the yellow jersey, but now I no longer want to do it," he expressed.
