The present of Paul Pogba has become complicated again. After returning to professional football following a lengthy suspension for doping and signing with Monaco in hopes of regaining his best form, the French midfielder is once again without a team after the club's decision to terminate his contract.
The departure occurred just a year after his arrival in the Principality. Pogba had a contract in effect until June 2027, but both parties agreed to end the relationship early. The decision represents another tough blow for a player who has faced numerous physical and disciplinary issues in recent years.
Pogba played only 115 minutes with Monaco
The numbers from his time at Monaco reflect the difficulties that the 2018 World Cup champion with France has faced.
During his stay with the Principality team, Pogba played only six Ligue 1 matches, started in just one of them, and accumulated 115 minutes of play.
Injuries were the main obstacle. The midfielder suffered various physical problems during preseason and later was sidelined due to a left thigh injury. Before that issue, he had also experienced discomfort in his right knee.
