The protest by Nancy Pazos in front of the National Congress sparked a strong media clash. The journalist decided to chain herself in rejection of the labor reform being debated in the Senate, and her actions did not go unnoticed. Among the critical voices, Mario Pergolini's stood out, since he made an ironic comment that quickly went viral.

Pazos took part in an action promoted by the group Periodistas Argentinas to demonstrate against what they consider an attempt to modify the Professional Journalist Statute. During the television coverage, she maintained that the official measure affects freedom of the press and she pointed directly at Javier Milei's government.

"This government wants journalists to be like this", she stated while she showed the word "snitch". She added: "We are fighting for democracy, journalism is the beacon and the light of democracy. The one who is in power always wants to hide things, and journalism has to shed light."

The gesture of chaining herself caused mixed reactions on social media. However, Pergolini made one of the harshest comments. Through his Instagram account, he shared an image of the journalist in chains and he wrote with irony: "And here I was thinking the worst thing that could happen to you is that your kid turns out therian. Anyway".

The phrase, brief but sharp, triggered a flood of responses both in favor of and against the host. Some users celebrated the mocking tone, while others questioned the level of the attack.

From C5N, the channel that covered the demonstration, they explained that Pazos took part as president of Periodistas Argentinas in a symbolic action against what they consider an advance on labor rights in the sector.

On her social media, the journalist reinforced her stance: "This government wants us journalists to be like this", she wrote at the bottom of the post where she showed her protest in front of Congress with other Kirchnerist colleagues.

In turn, she uploaded a video in which viewers can see everyone wearing white masks to hide their identity, except for her, who would be the leader of the demonstrators against the Government in this new step that the President wants to take in terms of improvements for society.
