The ruling party of the province of Córdoba has decided to grant freedom of action to its national representatives in the face of the debate on labor reform. Nevertheless, the legislators aligned with Governor Martín Llaryora plan to support Javier Milei's initiative during the general vote. The parliamentary strategy seeks to promote business competitiveness without compromising the shared tax resources that belong to the provinces.
The Córdoba bloc announced in advance that it will specifically reject Article 60 regarding the creation of the Labor Assistance Fund because it is harmful. In contrast, the deputies and senators will give the green light to the points that streamline procedures and reduce litigation in labor lawsuits. From Juan Schiaretti's circle, who will formally take office as a national deputy, they assure that "the reform is necessary" to boost employment.
This week is crucial for Alejandra Vigo, whose intervention in the Senate will set the initial course of the stance of federal Cordobesismo. Meanwhile, Schiaretti will participate actively in the discussion on the Juvenile Criminal Law that seeks to lower the age of criminal responsibility from 16 to 13 years. The former governor intends to fulfill his electoral campaign promises focused on modernizing the labor market and strengthening the development of SMEs.

Political strategy and deployment in the territory
While Congress debates national laws, Llaryora prefers to focus his work on a distinctly provincial and territorial agenda. The governor recently appeared at the Alta Gracia Communities Festival and will also take part in the Villa María Peñas Festival. This shift back to the local level responds to the need to strengthen his administration in view of the political challenges anticipated for the year 2027.
From the Civic Center, officials distance themselves from the national labor reform by pointing out that final approval doesn't depend exclusively on their votes. Llaryorismo also avoids any public rapprochement with Axel Kicillof, current head of the Justicialist Party in the province of Buenos Aires. Sources close to the governor from San Francisco simplified the relationship with the Buenos Aires governor by labeling his political space as pure Kirchnerismo.
The relationship between the Peronism of Córdoba and the party's national leadership will remain distant throughout the entire course of the current year. The provincial ruling party prioritizes avoiding accusations from its local opponents while it observes the moves of the La Libertad Avanza government. Llaryora's future positioning will depend to a large extent on the electoral intentions that Casa Rosada shows in the Córdoba district.
