The Ministry of Human Capital officially presented the Human Capital Training Center, an initiative aimed at training workers in trades and skills demanded by the private sector, with the objective of facilitating labor insertion and reducing dependence on social welfare programs.
The announcement was released through an institutional video and supported on social media by Minister Sandra Pettovello, who emphasized that the program seeks to "teach what the market needs" and provide concrete tools to gain access to genuine employment. The proposal is part of the Government's strategy to move toward a model of formal employment, with practical training and public-private coordination.
The Ministry of Human Capital indicated that the training courses will be aligned with the real demand of companies, prioritizing technical profiles and trades with rapid job placement. In this context, an agreement was signed with Metrogas to promote the training of new licensed gas fitters through the course "Installing Safe Heat." The agreement was signed by Pettovello and the company's general director, Sebastián Mazzucchelli, and aims to strengthen skilled employment and safety in natural gas installations.
The training, which Metrogas has been developing for more than a decade, will be delivered in person at the Labor Training Center in Trades refurbished by the Ministry in the former Instituto Garrigós, in the Buenos Aires neighborhood of La Paternal. It will last four weeks and will include five mandatory modules and one optional module, with technical, regulatory, and professional best-practice content.
At the end of the course, participants will be able to begin the process to obtain a second- and/or third-category gas fitter license, which is a key requirement to work under safety standards. To complete the licensing process, they will have to go to municipal professional training centers or those of the City of Buenos Aires.
Metrogas será participe en la formación.
According to official data, the program reached more than 8,400 students from 264 educational institutions, with the participation of almost 300 volunteers. In the 2024 edition, 85.6% of attendees considered that the training represented a concrete employment opportunity, while 89% were unaware of the possibility of obtaining a license with a high school diploma.
The Government highlights that this type of initiative reinforces a paradigm shift: moving from permanent assistance to productive training, with the private sector as a strategic ally.
