The rumors started months ago, but the company Stellantis is already taking it for granted: the return of the Citroën 2 CV. The automotive conglomerate barely provided details about the launch and confirmed that more information will be revealed in October 2026 at the Paris Motor Show.
This information comes, moreover, a day after the company presented its future plans for the coming years. One that placed Citroën at the center of its strategy for Europe.
Everything seems to indicate that Citroën has been preparing for the return of the Citroën 2 CV for months.
Now it is Stellantis itself that has revealed the project. In its statement, Citroën hinted that it won't be until October when we will have new news, but it does provide some interesting clues about what we can expect from this new Citroën 2 CV.
In the press release, Stellantis points out that this new vehicle is "designed to meet the challenges of electric mobility and new urban regulations, contributing to the emergence of a new category of small, affordable electric vehicles that offer greater freedom of movement without sacrificing personality or appeal."
Everything seems to indicate that Stellantis wants to fully enter the so-called E-Cars, a new category that is still yet to be fully defined.
