After months of investigation, this Thursday federal prosecutors have charged New York Attorney General, Letitia James, with defrauding a bank and making a false statement to a financial institution. The ultra-Democratic politician will appear before the court for the first time on October 24.
The indictment details that James stated in the mortgage documentation that a home located in the city of Norfolk would be purchased by her for residential purposes. That statement allowed her to obtain favorable loan terms—the lowest interest rate—that are not available for investments.
Prosecutors allege that James did not use the house and, instead, rented the property to a family of three. In short, the ultra-Democratic politician falsely stated in the loan application that the residence she was going to purchase would be a second home, knowing that she would use it as an investment property. This allowed her to obtain undue profits close to $19,000.

In response to these charges, James said that they are the result of a "weaponized" justice system against her. "These charges are unfounded, and the president's public statements make it clear that his only goal is political retribution at any cost," said the opposition prosecutor.
To become attorney general of a Democratic state like New York, James based her campaign exclusively on the promise that she would prosecute and bring Trump, who at that time was the main opposition leader to Biden's administration, to trial. James managed to have a judge from her own party impose a civil penalty on Trump in the amount of $450 million.
"Based on media reports, Ms. Letitia James has, on multiple occasions, falsified bank documents and property records to acquire more favorable government-backed loan terms," said part of the letter that Pulte sent to the Judiciary.
