Pokémon TCG Pocket: how to master the meta with the Mewtwo EX and Giratina EX deck
This deck opts for a minimalist setup of three Pokémon and 17 Trainer cards
The Brilliant Festival expansion of the Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket brought with it Giratina ex, a Basic Psychic-type Pokémon with 150 HP, the devastating Chaotic Impact attack, and the Fractured Space Roar ability, which allows attaching one Psychic Energy per turn from the deck. Although using this ability ends the turn, it's a key tool for building an unstoppable offense alongside Mewtwo ex, another Pokémon ex that shines for its Psi Guide attack.
Both combine to offer a legendary duo that also leaves ample room in the deck to reinforce the strategy with multiple Trainer cards.

Main strategy: early control and accumulated power
Unlike many traditional decks that include five or six Basic Pokémon, this one opts for a minimalist setup of three Pokémon and 17 Trainer cards. This structure allows quickly activating Giratina ex's ability and starting to charge Energy from the first turn.
"Giratina ex's strategy is a safer bet than those used with Articuno ex in the Formidable Genes era," states the official guide.

The ideal start is with Giratina ex as the Active Pokémon, using Tools like Giant Cape or Rocky Helmet to withstand initial damage while accumulating Psychic Energy.
Mewtwo ex as the finishing blow
Although Mewtwo ex doesn't have as efficient Energy acceleration as with Gardevoir, it can be powered up from the Bench at a rate of one Energy per turn. Its Psi Guide attack, dealing 150 damage, is ideal for taking out opponents with high HP that Giratina's Chaotic Impact can't finish off on its own.
"Use Maya to move the Energy and launch a surprise attack with Psi Guide or Chaotic Impact," recommends the strategy.
Additionally, Trainer Red can push Giratina ex to reach 150 damage, and Mewtwo ex can reach 170, which is lethal for most ex Pokémon in play. Meanwhile, Sabrina can be a key tactical tool to eliminate threats with a single attack.
