Elías Piccirillo was arrested last Thursday as part of an investigation led by prosecutor Franco Picardi. He is linked to a series of serious accusations. The businessman is known for his ties to the financial sector and for having been the ex-husband of host Jesica Cirio.

Piccirillo is being investigated for alleged fraud and unlawful deprivation of liberty, after being accused of fabricating a false case to incriminate financier Francisco Hauque, to whom he owes more than six million dollars at the free exchange rate.

According to the investigation, the ex of the model and businesswoman allegedly placed a 9-millimeter pistol and 1.2 kilograms (2.64 pounds) of cocaine in the financier's car so that the suspected agents would conduct a vehicle check, find the items, and proceed with his arrest.

The search of his residence, located in the exclusive gated community Nordelta, in the town of Tigre, allowed authorities to seize various items of interest for the case, including electronic devices, relevant documentation, and cash that he kept there. However, what caused the most intrigue were the two safes found on the cryptocurrency businessman's property. The safes were taken to the courthouse, but their contents remain unknown.

Judicial officials are waiting for the businessman to provide the necessary codes or keys to open the safes during his next inquiry statement. If he refuses to do so, they will seek other ways to access their contents, as it holds real importance in the case. This finding added more suspicions about his involvement in illicit activities, especially given the context where cryptocurrencies continue to be a vulnerable ground for fraud.

The case continues to gather elements, and Elías's arrest has put sectors linked to virtual currencies and finance on alert. The coming days could reveal more details about his involvement in this fraud network, and justice will continue its course to clarify the facts and determine the extent of his responsibility in a very complicated legal scenario for him.
