The Supreme Pontiff indicated that he is already making progress in organizing a papal trip
Pope León XIV confirmed that there is a possibility of visiting Argentina with Javier Milei during a future international tour planned for 2026. In this regard, the Supreme Pontiff indicated that he is already making progress in organizing a papal trip.
“During the jubilee year, we move forward living; every day there are activities, and next year we will gradually start planning”, said the Pope.
When specifically asked about his intention to visit Latin America next year, he replied to a group of journalists as he was leaving his residence in Castel Gandolfo: “Of course”, accompanying his words with a laugh that showed his enthusiasm. The conversation mentioned possible stops along the journey.

When asked about the possibility of including Fátima in the itinerary, León XIV replied: “Yes, Fátima, all the places. I am delighted to travel. The problem is scheduling with all the commitments, but yes, to Fátima, to Guadalupe as well, Mexico, Uruguay, Argentina also pending, going to Peru, of course”.
This last point highlights the close bond of Robert Prevost (the pontiff's civil name) with the Andean country, where he spent nearly forty years as a missionary and bishop.
The Pope specified that the final definition of the journey is conditioned by his institutional and personal responsibilities: “The problem is scheduling with all the commitments”, he reiterated, while admitting his desire to make a visit to various nations. The Latin American tour projected for 2026 would incorporate destinations that remain pending and places of great significance for the Catholic faithful.

The Pope's international agenda for the end of this year is centered on Türkiye and Lebanon, which for now appear as the only confirmed trips of the pontiff for 2025.
The itinerary includes a stay in Türkiye from November 27 to 30, followed by a visit to Lebanon between November 30 and December 2. Both destinations had already been considered previously by his predecessor, Pope Francisco, as possible travel points during his pontificate.
