Juanma Moreno Bonilla once again won decisively in Andalusia and secured a new victory for the Popular Party, in an election that left Spanish socialism plunged into a new political crisis.
Although the PP lost part of the absolute majority obtained in 2022 and will need parliamentary support from Vox to govern, the victory was widely interpreted as another severe blow to Pedro Sánchez's government.
The result also politically strengthened Alberto Núñez Feijóo ahead of the general elections scheduled for 2027.
Feijóo: “Spain said no to Sánchez again”
After the results were announced, Feijóo gathered the national leadership of the PP in Genoa and sent a message directly aimed at the socialist establishment.
“All of Sánchez's legacy that has been tested at the polls received the same response: ‘No, thank you’,” he stated.
The popular leader also asserted that “the campaign for change in Spain starts today” and maintained that the socialist government is experiencing an increasingly evident wear and tear.
The Andalusian election adds to other recent regional victories for the PP in:
Extremadura
Castilla y León
various key municipalities in Spain
The PSOE suffered another defeat and Montero will leave Congress

The big loser of the day was the PSOE led in Andalusia by María Jesús Montero.
The former Minister of Finance acknowledged campaign errors and attributed part of the poor performance to the digital strategy of socialism.
“We have not been able to adapt,” she admitted.
After the result, she also confirmed that she will leave her seat in Congress.
