The Office of the President communicated on social media that Javier Milei received at Casa Rosada the Minister of Human Capital, Sandra Pettovello, and the authorities of the Order of Economists of Brazil (OEB), who notified him that he was elected as "Economist of the Year" by the organization.
The Order of Economists of Brazil (OEB) was founded on January 11, 1935, at the Faculty of Economic Sciences of São Paulo, and is the civil entity that aims to disseminate economic knowledge throughout the country.
In the document delivered to President Milei, it can be read: "The Order of Economists of Brazil - OEB has the satisfaction and honor to inform you that Your Excellency has been chosen to receive the title of "ECONOMIST OF THE YEAR" of 2025, by decision of its Board and Superior Council, which in unanimous vote invites you to join the gallery of Illustrious Economists who have already received this honorable distinction."

"The choice could not have been more accurate, since since assuming the position of President of the Argentine Republic, Your Excellency has acted with wisdom and determination in monetary and regulatory policies, which have played a crucial role in the stabilization of the Argentine economy amid significant challenges," it adds.
Additionally, from the entity they point out: "Your strategic vision and commitment to economic stability have been essential in guiding your country in times of uncertainty and market volatility."
Finally, they communicate: "The OEB congratulates the fellow Economist, convinced that Your Excellency will accept the title as a recognition for all that you have done for our category and for the enhancement of the Argentine Nation. In addition to the trophy, the colleague will receive a Diploma alluding to the event."
