River will begin its participation in the Clausura Tournament on July 25, when it hosts Barracas Central at the Monumental stadium. For that match, coach Eduardo Coudet, who will serve a one-match suspension following his expulsion in the final of the Apertura Tournament, will not be able to count on Juan Fernando Quintero.

The Colombian midfielder will also be unavailable for the second round of the tournament and will only rejoin training next week.

Quintero requested an extraordinary leave until July 30 to attend to family matters. The player is currently in Miami and plans to travel to Medellín, where he will resolve personal issues before returning to Argentina.

As a result, he will miss the matches against Barracas Central and Gimnasia, two games that will mark the start of the semester for the Núñez team.

While the Colombian remains away from the squad, the coaching staff is closely monitoring the situation of Gonzalo Montiel and is awaiting the arrival of Nicolás Otamendi, both of whom were recently key players in the World Cup final.

These potential additions are seen as two of the main updates for a River team that will seek to strengthen its squad for the second half of the season.

In addition to his absence for personal reasons, Quintero's future has come under scrutiny again. In recent hours, rumors about a possible club change have increased, fueled by a detail that caught the attention of fans.

The Colombian removed from the biography of his Instagram account the reference that identified him as a River player, a gesture that reignited speculation about a potential exit in this transfer window.
