The media scandal that once again surrounded Benjamín Vicuña after the recent interviews given by China Suárez found unexpected support within his closest circle.
This Thursday, on Sálvese Quien Pueda (América TV), Roberto García Moritán spoke for the first time about the difficult moment the Chilean actor is going through and described him with a forcefulness that drew attention.
During a live segment, reporter Rodrigo Bar asked him about the media tension that arose from the actress's statements.
The question was direct: "You are a blended family together with Benja. Did you exchange any messages of support with him?" the journalist wanted to know.
The response from the former Buenos Aires City official left no room for doubt: "Always. Great guy. He is a great father and a great guy," he stated emphatically.
"I'm focused on other things, I don't consume too much and I get more involved in other matters, but I can say that what I experienced is that he is a great guy and a great father. I can't tell you much more" he continued, trying to distance himself from the current controversy.
"It's part of the game": Moritán's perspective on the criticism of Vicuña
When asked about the harsh criticism Vicuña has received in recent days, the businessman and Buenos Aires legislator pointed out that fame brings inevitable consequences: "It's somewhat the cost of popularity. When you are a public figure, you subject yourself to this. When you know how to read between the lines, sometimes you end up learning things. It's part of the game."
Hours earlier, also on Sálvese Quien Pueda (América TV), Yanina Latorre provided information that raised alarms about the actor's emotional state.
According to her account, she received a direct message from Vicuña's inner circle: "They tell me that he is very depressed, very down, with a lot of concern around him. He doesn't want to go out, he has little desire to record, and he is having a very hard time."
El actor chileno estaría refugiado en sus hijos en medio del dolor
The panelist assured that the actor may have even changed his daily behavior: "He checks if there is press outside because he doesn't want to talk anymore."
Lizardo Ponce, a panelist on the show, wanted to know how he organizes his family routine: "Is he with the children now?" he asked.
The host replied with an additional detail: "He is with the children because China is reportedly leaving between today and tomorrow for Istanbul with her boyfriend."
