The confirmation of San Lorenzo's leadership vacuum has opened a new chapter amid the institutional and sporting crisis the club is experiencing. After Marcelo Moretti's departure from the presidency, attention is now focused on the Assembly of Representatives, the body responsible for defining how the provisional Board of Directors will be formed.
According to the statute, the officials who have not resigned are eligible to be part of the new leadership, provided they are included on a list that obtains a simple majority in the Assembly's vote. In addition, any member who meets the regulatory requirements may join the proposal, although those who have resigned and caused the leadership vacuum will not be allowed to do so.
Cualquier socio que cumpla con los requisitos puede integrar la CD provisoria
The names still in office, but whose continuation or departure will depend on how the political landscape shifts in the coming days, are:
Marcelo Moretti
Carina Farías
Néstor Ortigoza
Alejandro Tamer
Sergio Costantino
Christian Evangelista
Emiliano Rodríguez
The key role of the Assembly of Representatives
The Assembly of Representatives, chaired by Ulises Morales, has a period of 30 days to call an extraordinary meeting at which a transitional government must be elected. That first meeting is scheduled for this Wednesday afternoon, and it will be there that the provisional Board of Directors is formed.
The Assembly also has the authority to call elections within a maximum period of 90 daysfrom the declaration of the leadership vacuum. However, there is an alternative for the assembly members to vote for the continuation of the interrupted administration until the two years remaining in Moretti's term are completed.
La asamblea debe definir si sigue el gobierno interrumpido o hay elecciones
The statute, however, is clear: with more than six months remaining in the term, it is mandatory to call elections. That eventual election will serve to choose a new Board of Directors, while the Assembly and the Oversight Committee will remain in office until December 2027, when the original term ends.
