A chilling crime has shocked the small town of Melo, located in the south of Córdoba.
This is a settlement of just 1,200 inhabitants, where a murder occurred after a graduation party over the weekend.
Gerónimo Carabajal, 26 years old, died after being stabbed outside the event held at the Sociedad Italiana hall.
Yuri, one of the graduates and the victim's brother, said that everything began with an isolated attack against one of his cousins when the party ended.
Together with his brothers, they were attacked by surprise by a group.
Yuri recounted that he saw how one of the strikers got into a pickup truck and grabbed a knife.
"He went after a younger brother of mine whom he had hit, but Gerónimo went to defend him and was stabbed," he said.
The young man who was attacked was taken to the regional hospital in Laboulaye, where his death was confirmed minutes later.
The person accused of the crime was reportedly invited by one of the graduates, a detail that is still under investigation.
