A teacher and father of a girl was executed while working as a driver for a travel app. The main suspect is a member of the Police of the Province of Buenos Aires, under the government of Axel Kicillof.
The incident occurred in the San Javier neighborhood, on the hand of the Presidente Perón highway that goes to Ezeiza, near Virrey del Pino. There, Pereyra was shot three times and died. The case was left in the hands of prosecutor Adrián Arribas, head of the Office of the Attorney General specialized in Homicide in La Matanza. As it was possible to rebuild, Pereyra was driving a dark green Chevrolet Corsa, patent GXF 616, and had accepted a trip requested through an application. The passenger got into the vehicle and during the journey he allegedly tried to steal his car, which led to the shooting attack.

After proceeding with the first steps, the prosecutor summoned the passenger to testify. After hearing his version of the events, the man immediately became the prime suspect in the crime. The victim's family was forceful in their complaints. “My brother was killed by a policeman who was his passenger. He killed him and went to work at the UTOI. The institution that has to take care of us killed him,”Brenda Anahi, sister of the murdered teacher, reported on social networks. With the first evidence collected, prosecutor Arribas requested the arrest of the accused, a measure that has already been granted
by the Buenos Aires justice system.
The victim
Cristian Pereyra worked as a teacher in Technical Secondary Education schools No. 2, No. 8 and No. 10 in La Matanza. In addition to her teaching work, she traveled using apps to generate additional income. He was the father of a 3-year-old girl, as confirmed by relatives and relatives on social networks. From the Argentine Teachers Union of La Matanza they expressed their pain for
the crime.
“From the Argentine Teachers Union La Matanza, we express our deepest condolences to the family, friends and other loved ones of our colleague Cristian Eduardo Pereyra who lost his life in an act of insecurity. We support the call for justice and express our strongest repudiation of all acts of violence against teachers and all workers,” they
said in a statement.
The educational institutions where the teacher worked also spoke out. “The educational community of EEST No. 8 'Jorge Newbery' deeply regrets the death of our colleague Cristian Eduardo Pereyra, who was a teacher and was part of our institution,” the school
said.
“At this difficult time, we accompany with deep sorrow his family, loved ones and friends, especially his young daughter, sending them our sincerest condolences and solidarity. We inform you that we have arranged a day of mourning for Monday, March 16, and we will resume activities on Tuesday, March 17. We accompany his family at this painful time,” the authorities added

The murder of Pereyra once again focuses on a criminal modality that is growing in the Metropolitan Area: criminals who pose as passengers to ambush application drivers. A similar case occurred at the end of December in Temperley, a district of Lomas de Zamora, where a 58-year-old driver was the victim of an ambush during a trip requested by an app. According to police sources, the trip began with four people on board. After going three blocks to the Mirasol and Chicago intersection, two women descended. Then, two blocks later—in Mirasol and Sweden—the two remaining men pulled out a gun and stole money, documents and his
cell phone.
Then they forced him to get out of the vehicle and escaped with the car, a Renault Sandero, which appeared abandoned shortly after in Mirasol and Costa Rica, five blocks from the assault. Another incident occurred in January in Villa Soldati, where an application driver was shot in the leg during an attempted robbery. The attack occurred on Avenida Fernández de la Cruz and Mariano Acosta, when the driver of a black Fiat Cronos was approached by an armed assailant who intended to steal his vehicle and other belongings. After receiving the alert, personnel from Neighborhood Police Station 8B arrived at the scene and interviewed the driver, in his 40s, who reported that he had gone to get a package at the Soldati housing complex and was surprised by an
