The Armed Forces will receive an additional increase of 12.22% on their salaries between September and December 2026, as part of the salary recovery and ranking process for military personnel promoted by the government of Javier Milei and Defense Minister Carlos Presti.
The first increase will be 6.9% starting September 1, to which an additional five percentage points specifically for military personnel will be added. The measure aims to strengthen the income of those in the Armed Forces and advance a structural recomposition.
The increase will impact all military personnel
By decision of Minister Carlos Presti, the additional five percentage points will be directly incorporated into the basic salary and will apply to all active personnel, regardless of their rank or hierarchy.
The decision will also impact retired and pensioned personnel, as the recomposition of the basic salary affects the various components calculated from that base.
In this way, the improvement will not be limited to the nominal salary increase. It will also affect concepts such as seniority, zone, minimum time, title, and other supplements, in addition to impacting the calculation of the bonus.

The new increase of 12.22% adds to the 17.62% accumulated between January and August, so the salaries of the Armed Forces are projected to close 2026 with an increase close to 32%.
The government thus maintains a policy of recovering the income of military personnel, in line with the modernization process taking place in the Defense area.
This recomposition is complemented by other measures implemented during Presti's administration. Among them is the general supplement for titles, aimed at recognizing the training and education of personnel through additional payments equivalent to 10%, 15%, and 25% of the salary, depending on the educational level achieved.
More recognition for Commandos, Special Forces, and the F-16 program
The ranking policy also includes the recognition of functions related to strategic capabilities for national defense.
Starting in September, at the initiative of the Defense Minister and the decision of President Javier Milei, a specific supplement will be granted to personnel in Commandos and Special Forces, as well as to those performing specific functions related to the F-16 Peace Condor Program.
The measure aims to recognize the specialization, training, and responsibility required for these tasks, especially at a time when Argentina is advancing in the recovery of strategic military capabilities.
The economic recognition of these functions is integrated into the modernization process of the Armed Forces and seeks to support the professionalization of personnel operating high-complexity systems and capabilities.
