The National Team will play a friendly in Bahía Blanca: a house is built for each goal

The news was announced at a press conference at the Lionel Messi complex in Ezeiza

The head coach of the Argentina National Team, Lionel Scaloni, confirmed a friendly match this Saturday between the senior team and the Under-20 team led by Diego Placente at the Huracán stadium.

The news was announced at a press conference at the Lionel Messi complex in Ezeiza, where Scaloni was joined by the president of the AFA, Claudio Tapia, and the footballers from Bahía Blanca, Lautaro Martínez and Germán Pezzella.

Meanwhile, Tapia announced the signing of an agreement with the Civil Association "Techo," through which a house will be built for every goal scored by the National Team throughout the year, with the aim of helping those who have lost everything in Bahía Blanca.

The charity event will take place this Saturday at 5 PM at the Huracán stadium. The squad led by Scaloni, composed of players drafted for the next qualifying match, will face Placente's Under-20 team. All proceeds will be allocated to the reconstruction of the José Penna Interzonal Hospital in Bahía Blanca.

"We were thinking about what to do during this FIFA date, we felt we had to do something, and the possibility of a friendly against the Under-20 team came up, an open training session at the Huracán field to raise funds for the Penna hospital," explained Scaloni.

The match will be played this Saturday at 5 PM at the Huracán stadium, and although the ticket prices have not yet been revealed, both Scaloni and the players called on the public to attend and contribute to the fundraising cause.

"It's the way to lend a hand to all this tragedy that happened in Bahía Blanca. The Penna lost most, if not almost everything, and it's a very important place for the city. Hopefully, that hospital will rise with what we can help. The price, for some, will be symbolic, for others not, but it's important that we help and contribute our grain of sand," expressed the head coach with hope.

Also present at the conference were Tapia, Scaloni, and the footballers Lautaro Martínez and Germán Pezzella, both from Bahía Blanca, in the south of Buenos Aires province.

Martínez, visibly moved, commented: "I want to thank the country that, honestly from a distance, seeing such support... It's hard for me to speak because my family lives in Bahía".

"There's family, friends... I grew up there. It's difficult: a year and two months ago, more or less, we went through a storm, and the city wasn't in good shape. Recovering in such a short time and experiencing it again stronger and harder is terrible," confessed the Inter forward, emotionally.

Pezzella, meanwhile, also showed his support, albeit in a more restrained manner, and expanded on his teammate's reflection, adding his perspective from a different closeness.

"It's a tough moment, people don't know where to start, and we're trying from our place to do everything possible to contribute what is within our reach. I thank the people of Argentina, we have a spectacular country. I've seen kids donate their toys, and that moves you," concluded the River defender.
