A cyberattack affected the Police of Córdoba and forced the activation of all security protocols. The incident was confirmed by the force through an official statement. It was indicated that there was unauthorized access to internal files from the personnel department, without involving operational data.

The provincial government ruled out that sensitive information had been compromised. The Minister of Security, Juan Pablo Quinteros, indicated that there was an attempt to access databases containing judicial cases. It was also denied that the attack put the public at risk or revealed institutional plans.

The complaint was immediately submitted to the Cybercrime Prosecutor's Office. It was detailed that the strikers allegedly demanded a ransom in exchange for the stolen information. However, the Police rejected this extortion and continued with the corresponding investigation.

The objective was to leak judicial data

The individuals responsible for the attack sought to appropriate material useful for judicial cases and ongoing investigations. The maneuver was similar to one allegedly carried out by a criminal association led by the former head of Caminera. That organization used its position to leak data and operate in cases for illegal purposes.

Minister Quinteros stated that it was a serious but controlled incident. According to him, the breach only occurred in limited information from the Human Resources department. "It is expressly clarified that the incident was not due to an inherent vulnerability," the statement clarified.

The investigation was left in charge of prosecutor Franco Pilnik, who specializes in computer crimes. Forensic teams are already working to determine the origin and method of the cyberattack. For now, the identity and whereabouts of those responsible for the attempted leak have not been reported.
