The deep security crisis plaguing the Buenos Aires territory is not an isolated incident, but rather a direct result of the Kirchnerist management that has dismantled the principle of order and left those who must uphold the law defenseless. Under the disastrous government of Axel Kicillof, the streets of the conurbation have become lawless. This alarming scenario of civil anarchy materialized last Friday around 4:30 PM in the neglected neighborhood of Villa Tranquila, in the district of Avellaneda.

In an unavoidable display of the audacity with which the violent operate in the ruling party's stronghold, the savage armed aggression erupted on Estévez Street at 800, just eight blocks from the home of the province's own Minister of Security, Javier Alonso.

The spark that ignited the neighborhood barbarism began with a simple and routine urban order check: a sergeant on patrol on Centro Avenue identified a badly parked vehicle whose owner flatly refused to move it. In response to the defiance, the officer contacted the Citizen Care area by phone to request a municipal tow truck.

It was at that precise moment that a mob of hostile and marginalized neighbors gathered at the scene to besiege and physically attack the officer. The sergeant was violently thrown to the ground, being impudently stripped of her bulletproof vest and a magazine from her service pistol.

Amid the ongoing lynching, a patrol car quickly arrived as backup, but its two occupants were immediately outnumbered by the hostile crowd. In the midst of the brutal siege, a woman from the attacking faction managed to snatch the service weapon from the supporting sergeant, a Bersa 9 mm pistol.

Overpowered and under a rain of stones and projectiles, one of the sergeants was forced to fire shots towards a safe area to clear a path and take refuge in a police booth located at the intersection of Estévez and Roca.

During the chaotic retreat of the officers, the criminal mob smashed the windows of the patrol car and stole its keys to immobilize it. Only the arrival of additional police units allowed for the dispersal of the violent crowd, the recovery of the keys, and the removal of the wrecked patrol car from the conflict zone.

After the brutal assault that left at least four police officers injured, the Unit of Instruction No. 3 initiated judicial proceedings under the serious charges of "damage, assault on authority, theft, and aggravated injuries".

At the same time, the UFI No. 4 ordered the preventive seizure of the weapons of the two officers who fired shots to repel the attack. Additionally, the General Audit of Internal Affairs (AGAI) initiated an administrative inquiry into the case. In an alarming irony that reflects the broken social fabric of the conurbation, police sources confirmed that one of the assaulted officers is a resident of the very neighborhood of Villa Tranquila where she was lynched.
