Racing delivered the first major move of the transfer window and will start the year with a high-impact signing. Valentín Carboni, one of the young prospects of the Argentina National Team, will play for La Academia on a one-year loan, with no fee and no purchase option, after an agreement was reached with Inter Milan.
The deal was closed after several weeks of negotiations conducted with absolute secrecy. It was so important for the club that the president himself, Diego Milito, personally led the talks together with Javier Zanetti, vice president of the Italian side, until they unlocked the player's arrival.
Carboni's arrival also replied to a strong desire from the player himself. With limited playing time during his loan spell at Genoa, Inter decided to terminate that loan and look for a destination that would allow him to compete more regularly. In that scenario, the Avellaneda team emerged, an option that the youngster accepted immediately, convinced that the club offers him an ideal context to relaunch his career in a key year due to the proximity of the 2026 World Cup.
