Trump at the UN: 'Recognizing Palestine is a reward for Hamas terrorists.'

Donald Trump returned to the UN General Assembly podium after six years, in a speech that combined management claims, criticisms of the multilateral organization, and proposals to solve global conflicts. The president emphasized that under his administration, energy costs were reduced, inflation was controlled, and record investments were attracted.

"We are in the golden age of the United States", Trump stated, highlighting what he described as an unprecedented economic recovery after "the economic calamity inherited from the previous administration."

Soaring economy and record investments

The American president presented figures that, according to him, confirm the strength of the U.S. economy:

• 48 recent records in the stock markets.
• Wages rising at the fastest pace in 60 years.
• Seventeen trillion dollars in new foreign investments in just eight months of his term.

"When President Biden left office, there was less than three trillion in investments. Today, we've received serious commitments and have already been given seventeen trillion dollars", he emphasized.

Trump also highlighted that no illegal foreigners were admitted in the last four months, which, he said, demonstrates his firmness on immigration matters.

Political message and international demands

In the diplomatic arena, Trump warned that "recognizing the Palestinian State is a reward for Hamas terrorists" and demanded that Europe stop buying oil from Russia. He also called for an end to the war in Ukraine and the cessation of violence in Gaza.

The president asserted that in his first seven months in office, he managed to end seven prolonged wars in different regions of the world, from Kosovo and Serbia to Rwanda and the Congo. "Nothing like this had ever happened. It's a source of pride for me, although it's a shame the United Nations didn't do it", he remarked.

Criticism of the UN and defense of U.S. leadership

True to his style, Trump devoted a central part of his speech to criticizing the role and expenses of the United Nations. He pointed out that the organization "didn't even try to help" in the conflicts he solved and defended the need for strong leadership from the United States on the global stage.

"The world benefits when America is strong. Today, thanks to our management, the United States is the best country in the world to do business," he concluded.
