Valve is collaborating with AMD to incorporate FSR 4 into the Steam Machine, a news that generates excitement among gamers. This compact console, which according to reviews is positioned with similar power to a PlayStation 5, aims to close the gap in graphical performance that it currently presents.
The main weak point so far was its previous version of FSR, which could not match the clarity of moving images that the PS5 offers, let alone the PS5 Pro. Although it allows for improved sharpness of low-resolution graphics, it lagged behind in direct comparisons.
With this partnership, the Steam Machine could make a significant leap. FSR 4 brings advanced scaling and performance enhancement tools, including AI-assisted frame generation, which should make games look much better.
An anticipated update
The console launches at a price of $1,049 for the 512GB version, somewhat higher than many expected. Therefore, any improvement in visual quality is welcome to justify that investment. Valve confirmed through its representative Pierre-Loup Griffais that they are working with AMD to bring FSR 4.
